After months and months of trying to be as far away from civilization as possible on a moonless night (I got unlucky in the Sahara), I finally found the ideal location – a remote little village in the heart of Bulgaria, right at the foot of the mighty Balkan range. The song was actually playing in the background as I was shooting, adding to the spectacle of the scenery. As happy as I am to have finally shot the Milky Way, I’m looking forward to trying this out again and getting better results with improved equipment one day.
